Leave the car behind, and explore the nearby Stock Ghyll Falls, or the beautiful walk to Grasmere along the shores of Rydal Water.

For a more challenging walk head up to Fairfield Horseshoe one of the classic Lake District Walks. Literary fans can easily visit Rydal Mount, the family home of William Wordsworth, or simply enjoy the eclectic selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes that Ambleside has to offer.
